Breakwater Systems

The WB670 breakwater system has been our signature wave control product since 2012, but Horseshoe Bend Dock Service has been designing and constructing floating breakwater systems since the late 1980’s. Frank Bachelier designed his first breakwater system to shelter the Barge Floating restaurant. Built with a lumber frame, corrugated polyethylene cylinders, and lots of tires.

Other projects included the Millers Landing breakwaters as well as Camden on the Lake in the early 2000’s.

Today’s unit, a 6’ tall x 7’ wide galvanized steel structure supporting a vinyl seawall piling shell, and floatation components is the strongest most durable wave barrier at Lake of the Ozarks. Not to mention its effectiveness. Harnessing the weight of the water it holds in its baffles, it rejects the wave energy produced by the wind and boats alike, and sends it back out to sea.
