Rip Rap

Rip Rap is the process of strategically placing rocks/boulders along a length of shoreline to prevent erosion or to stabilize an existing structure such as a seawall or pier. Used for hundreds of years, rip rap is a fairly new practice at Lake of the Ozarks. It was introduced to this lake in 1998 by our founder, Frank Bachelier. Having knowledge of rip rap and its use from working on the Mississippi River, Frank purchased the equipment necessary for its installation and began operations.

Today rip rap is a required part of all shoreline stabilization projects at Lake of the Ozarks, used in stabilizing failing seawalls, preventing seawall footing erosion, as well as mitigating erosion on areas of raw shoreline.

Over the past 20 years we have developed a method of placing the rip rap in such a way that it locks together, almost like a puzzle, and becomes a new aesthetically pleasing feature to any piece of lakefront. We are the only rip rap installer that can offer this level of quality and durability.
